John Deere Ag - Features for StarFire™ RTK
Provides 1-inch repeatable accuracy
StarFireTM RTK provides
highly accurate corrections to the AutoTracTM
guidance
system. It utilizes a local, ground-based reference
station that transmits the high-accuracy
corrections to a
vehicle StarFire receiver via RTK radios. Because of the
proximity of the
base station to the vehicle, nearly all GPS
drift is eliminated, and the position is
highly repeatable.
In order for the base station signal to reach the vehicle, a
direct
line-of-sight is required.

John Deere Ag - AutoTrac™ SF2
AutoTrac™ reduces overlap
University studies have shown ag equipment operators tend to
overlap 5% to 10% over the course of an entire day, which
could mean up to 4 feet of overlap with a 40 foot implement.
Think about how much 5% to 10% more fuel, fertilizer, seed,
chemicals, equipment wear, and time might cost the average
operation. Now, reduce these numbers to 1-2 inches of
overlap, which can be accomplished when a guidance system is
being used, and you can see how an AutoTrac system can pay
off in any operation
AutoTrac™ reduces operator fatigue
AutoTrac allows
operators to be more productive as they focus on tasks,
other than steering, while traveling down the field.
When operators have to spend their
entire work day manually steering a machine while watching
for obstacles and checking to make sure the implement is
operating as designed, they get very tired. Using the
AutoTrac Assisted Steering System greatly reduces the
strain on the operator because the system accurately
guides the vehicle down the most optimum pass,
consequently reducing input costs, all the while allowing
the operator to focus on other tasks at hand.
Other benefits to the operator include:
- Being able to watch the implement
more closely to see if parts are wearing out or
failing allowing them to be proactive rather than
reactive.
- Keeping a watchful eye out for
damaging obstacles in the field such as rocks,
washouts or holes caused by broken tile lines.
All these benefits result in more
uptime for the equipment and an operator who is more alert
at the end of the day, a benefit everyone can appreciate.
AutoTrac™ allows for faster
working speeds
Productivity is very important to any successful
farming operation. A greater number of acres can be
covered when a machine is traveling across field at higher
speeds, and this directly affects productivity.
AutoTracTM allows operators to travel faster throughout
the working day because they are not concentrating on
manually steering the vehicle on the correct pass through
the field; AutoTrac accurately steers for them. This value
is obvious when performing tasks that require high rates
of speed such as spraying or while completing difficult
passes with contours or curves. Being able to work faster,
if only by a mile or two per hour more, will boost
productivity on any operation and the farmer will feel
better at the end of the day.
John Deere Ag - Swath Control Pro™
Swath Control Pro™ turns implement or
sprayer boom sections on and off based on GPS
Swath Control Pro™ improves machine
efficiency
By shutting off sections where product
has already been applied or planted, Swath Control Pro helps
to minimize input costs. Yields may also be improved by
reducing crop damage or over-planting.
Swath Control Pro™ improves operator
efficiency
Swath Control Pro eliminates the need for the
operator to manually shut off implement or sprayer boom
sections; therefore, operator fatigue is reduced,
resulting in the following:
- Longer hours running in the field, getting the job
done faster
- Less risk of forgetting to turn sections back on
after making a headland turn
- Allows less experienced operators to make an
accurate application
Swath Control Pro™ improves land
stewardship
Land is every farmer’s most valuable
asset, so no one wants to apply excess fertilizer or
chemicals. Swath Control Pro allows you to minimize the
amount of product applied to the field by making the most
accurate application possible.
